What I collect, and what I do with it.

Short version: the only information this site has about you is what you typed into the form yourself. Nothing is sold, nothing is traded, and nobody is tracking you while you read.

This site does not track you

There are no advertising trackers, no analytics scripts, no social media pixels, and no third party code of any kind on these pages. The site sets no cookies. Nothing is stored in your browser. You can read every word here without leaving a trace, and that is deliberate.

What the sign up form collects

If you fill out the form on the home page, it sends me what you entered:

• Your name and email address. Required, because I need a way to answer you.
• Your phone number. Optional. Give it to me only if you want a call or a text back.
• Your street. Optional. This is how I know which block to walk and which problem is yours.
• How you would like to help. The dropdown, so I know whether you want a yard sign, want to knock doors, or have something broken that needs fixing.

That is the entire list. There is no hidden field, and the form does not collect anything about you that you did not type.

Why I ask, and what I actually do with it

I use it to get back to you, to keep you posted on the campaign, and to figure out where to spend my Saturdays. If you told me something on your street is broken, I use your address to go look at it.

I intend to send occasional campaign updates by email to people who sign up. Every one of those will have a one click way to stop receiving them, and I will honor it.

Who else sees it

I do not sell, rent, trade, or give away your information. Not to another candidate, not to a party, not to a consultant, not to anyone building a list. If somebody asks me for it, the answer is no.

Every company that touches it, and what they are allowed to do

You should not have to take my word for the sentence above, so here is the whole chain, named, with what each one may and may not do.

Netlify hosts this site, receives your form submission, and stores it in my account. Their Data Processing Agreement says they will "not sell, share, retain, use or disclose the Customer Data for any purpose (whether or not commercial) other than for the specific purpose of performing the Services," and that they "shall not use the Customer Data for the purposes of marketing or advertising or for Netlify's own commercial purposes." Their privacy policy covers their own account holders and website visitors, and it points anyone asking about your submission back to me, because I am the one responsible for it, not them.

Google delivers and stores the notification email that lands in my inbox. I want to be straight about this one: the campaign inbox is currently an ordinary Gmail account, governed by Google's consumer privacy policy rather than by a business data processing agreement. Google's own documentation states that "we do not process email content to serve ads." Moving campaign mail onto my own domain under a business agreement is on my list, and when I do it, this paragraph changes to say so.

No newsletter service yet. I intend to add one so I can send occasional updates. When I do, I will name the company here, link its terms, and state what it is allowed to do with your address, before the first email goes out rather than after.

Nothing else. There is no analytics provider, no advertising network, no data broker, no CRM, and no social media platform in this chain. Nothing on these pages reports your visit to anyone.

The one thing I cannot promise around: if a court or the law requires disclosure, I have to comply. I would tell you if that ever happened.

How long I keep it

Through the May 2028 election and a reasonable wind down after it, unless you ask me to delete it sooner. Ask and it is gone.

How to see it, fix it, or delete it

Email Raymond4Galveston@gmail.com or call (409) 308-0021 and tell me what you want. I will send you a copy of what I have, correct anything wrong, or delete it entirely. You do not need a reason and you will not get an argument. I aim to handle it within a few days, because it is a short list and I do it myself.

Security, honestly stated

The connection to this site is encrypted, so what you type is protected on its way to me. Your information then sits in my host account and my email, both behind passwords I control. That is a reasonable level of care for a neighborhood campaign, and it is not a bank vault. I would rather tell you that plainly than promise you something I cannot guarantee.

Children

This site is for voters and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If that happened by accident, write to me and I will delete it.

If this policy changes

I will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is a significant one, I will say so in an email to anyone on the list.
